After a 15 year career as a multicultural hairstylist, Akyra has cared for an array of hair types and textures, each unique in its own beauty. Early on, she recognized the negative bias and nuances surrounding natural hair in particular and wanted to change the narrative on what it means to be “natural.” Akyra uses her influence to encourage the ideology that every kind of hair texture is “good” and deserves to be accepted and celebrated! In 2023, she created and apparel company, “Wholeness Hair Co.” as an extension of her holistic hair clinic in Williamsburg,VA to empower people to wear their hair with pride- the way it was divinely designed.
